Since 2019, FINOBETON S.A. participates in the alternative management system of Excavation, Construction and Demolition Waste (ECDW). The approved non-hazardous ECDW processing plant of the company and the site of deposition of aggregates and residues from the processing of ECDW are located in Chordaki, Chania.

The institution of alternative excavation, construction and demolition waste management aims at the prevention and reduction of the impact on the environment and human health from the uncontrolled dumping of excavated and demolished waste, as well as at the exploitation and reusability of the recycled materials with the ultimate goal of redirecting them back to the construction market.

ECDW, which is recognized by the European Union as waste with high management priority, consists of materials that can be recycled, such as concrete, iron, bricks, gypsum, wood, glass, metal, plastic, asbestos and soil. It arises from activities such as the construction and total or partial demolition of buildings and civil infrastructure, renovations of buildings or apartments, as well as the construction and maintenance of roads.

Aggregates which are the recycled products of the processing of ECDW can be used in various construction projects. FINOBETON S.A. specifically offers sand B, subgrade and coarse gravel, which are aggregates produced in the ECDW processing plant of the company.

The company also participates in the collective systems of HERRCO S.A. (Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation S.A.) and HRA (Hellenic Recycling Agency).

FINOBETON S.A. implements an environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015 international standard.

quarry products

FINOBETON S.A. offers quarry products (sand, fine gravel, medium gravel, coarse gravel, boulders, etc.), mining products from the privately-owned marble quarry and the aggregates quarry in which it is a shareholder, which are used as raw materials for the production of concrete, asphalt mixtures and mortars, and fully meet the needs of even the most demanding projects.

All quarry products bear a CE marking according to European standards ELOT EN 12620:2002, EN 13043:2002 and EN 13242:2002, in compliance with Regulation 305/2011/EU of the European Parliament in order to ensure superior quality.

FINOBETON S.A. also offers aggregates (sand B, subgrade, coarse gravel) which are products of the ECDW processing plant of the company.

asphalt products

FINOBETON S.A., facing the ever-increasing demands on projects in Crete, invested in a new asphalt products plant which began its operation in 2023 at the company’s facilities in Chordaki, Chania.
The new plant, constructed with Italian technology, is the best choice for managing the high production requirements of the market, while it ensures the excellent quality of the final product.
It is equipped with modern cold and hot recycling systems which make it efficient and sustainable in today’s era where recycling is a main priority.

The following product categories are produced:

  • Asphalt mixtures types AS 12.5, AS 20, AS 31.5 and AS 40
  • Antiskid asphalt mixtures types I and II (produced only on special request).

The products bear CE marking, according to European standard ELOT EN 13108.01 and the Technical Specification ELOT TS 1501-05-03-11-04:2018.

The plant also produces the COLD•PATCH ready-to-use cold asphalt patch & pothole repair mixture, in accordance with the AASHTO & ASTM INTERNATIONAL standards, as well as the European standards EN 1426:99 and EN 1427:99.

The fully automated production plant of the FINOMIX dry mortars, using German technology, has been operating since 2008 at the company’s facilities in Chordaki, Chania. It has been vertically designed (mixing tower plant) in order to increase productivity and reduce energy consumption.

The recent expansion of the production facilities which increased the capacity to over 1,000 tons per day with two independent production lines, as well as the addition of new logistics space of over 2,500m2, contribute to the immediate and efficient meeting of the ever-increasing market’s demand.

FINOMIX products are available in the Greek market and abroad through the distribution centers of the company in Chania, Herakleion (Crete) and Athens, and a dense network of associates and points of sale.

Technical support is provided by specialized technical staff in order to provide high quality services not only before but also after sales, as well as, hands-on training on optimal product application and the proper operation of the application machines.

FINOBETON S.A. produces ready-mixed concrete covering the most basic exposure categories set by the new Concrete Technology Regulation (C.T.R. 2016) and the European standard ΕLΟΤ ΕΝ 206-1: X0 (C12/15, C16/20), XC1 (C20/25), XC2/XC3 (C25/30) and XC4/XS1/XS2/XD1/XA1 (C30/37), as well as concrete designed for special project requirements or according to a specific customer mix.

The modern, automated ready-mixed concrete plants, the well-equipped laboratories, combined with the high expertise of the specialized scientific and technical staff, provide the company with the ability to serve its customers’ any type of requirements. At the same time, the use of modern aggregate processing machinery (air classifiers) enables the firm to produce special grades of concrete for specialized construction projects.

The Architectural Concrete product range includes the high-quality colored concrete specially designed for maximum durability through time without fading, as well as, decorative concrete terrazzo floors and pebble floors, both of timeless aesthetics and high durability.

The Technical Concrete product range includes watertight concrete, an integrally waterproofed, by crystalline growth, concrete product which actively protects structures from water penetration, the high water permeability concrete with high drainage capability, the shotcrete and the concrete for airport pavements.
